Amazon claims that recycled paper filler not only matches but often exceeds the protective qualities of plastic air pillows during shipping. The motivation behind this move extends beyond public image. Amazon reported that it used 85,916 metric tons of single-use plastic in 2022, marking an 11.6% decrease from the previous year.
